(AUS) Low Risk High Reward Betting Strategy

— THIS POST IS FOR AUSTRALIAN BOOKMAKERS —
I have been heavily into matched betting for quite some time and someone in my community has come across a decent strategy to play on bookies Same Game Multi Promos
Promo: 3+ Leg Same Game Multi - Refund if 1 leg fails. (Max Bet $50)
1) Pick an NBA game where you think the favourite will win but the underdog will cover the spread.
2) set up your multi like this:
Leg 1 - Fav ML/H2H
Leg 2 - Dog + Points
Leg 3 - Player to Have 10+ Points/4+ Assists/4+ Rebounds
Eg: Leg 1 - Kings ML
Leg 2 - OKC +1.5
Leg 3 S. Adams 4+ Rebounds
= $31.00
If you choose a player prop that 9.99/10 times will get up every game it’s a sure fire lock to get a bonus bet return.
I’ve personally hit 4 of these bets in the past 5 days.
If you have access to Betfair you can turn over bonus bets at 80% ($40 back on $50 bonus bet but that’s another topic altogether).
Some winning slips:
Kings/OKC (not my personal bet): https://imgur.com/gallery/nZkLGca
Raptors/Bulls: https://imgur.com/gallery/hqYhD8B
Knicks/Pacers: https://imgur.com/gallery/0z8PxX2

Gambling winnings

After some quick advice. I recently started getting into matched betting, taking advantage of all the bonus offers from the Australian bookmakers. Have been pulling in on average 3-400 a week for the past 6-7 months, this wont be long term, as slowly but surely the bookies are restricting me so I cant take advantage of them any more. However, just wondering, do I need to declare these as earning on my tax at the end of a year?
I know any winning from the NZ TAB is tax free as you pay tax on every dollar you punt, however, anyone know how this works when you are using offshore bookmakers where the NZ govt gets nothing from it?
If I dont declare it, am I at the risk of getting the IRD on my back if they look over my records and find that I had an income of 10k over the last financial year?

[1998 Season Rewatch - Week 19] Las Vegas 500k @ Las Vegas Motor Speedway (IRL Finale); Honda Indy Carnival Australia @ Surfers Paradise Street Circuit (CART)

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 10, 1998 - Billy Boat earned his league-record sixth PPG Pole of the year, smashing his track record with a speed of 214.567 mph Saturday during Pep Boys Indy Racing League qualifying for the Las Vegas 500K at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Boat claimed his league-record fourth consecutive pole of the season in the Conseco Dallara/Aurora/Goodyear owned by four-time Indianapolis 500 winner A.J. Foyt. Boat's streak began Aug. 15 at the Radisson 200 at Pikes Peak International Raceway in Fountain, Colo.
The Las Vegas 500K, a 312-mile race on the 1.5-mile oval, starts at 1 p.m. (PDT) Sunday.
By taking the pole, Boat helped teammate Kenny Brack in his quest for the Pep Boys Indy Racing League championship and the Pep Boys Million bonus. Brack leads the chase for the championship by 31 points over Davey Hamilton and 39 over Tony Stewart.
Boat earned three points for the PPG Pole, preventing either Stewart or Hamilton from taking those valuable points. Brack qualified sixth. "Anything I can do to take points away from (Hamilton and Stewart), that's my job," said Boat, from Phoenix. Boat broke the track record of 207.413 that he set while winning the PPG Pole last year at this race.
Stewart qualified second at 212.934 in the Glidden-Menards-Special Dallara/Aurora/Firestone. He earned two bonus points. Marco Greco was a season-best third in the International Sports Limited-Mexmil G Force/Aurora/Firestone at 212.331. Greg Ray was fourth at 212.272 in the TKM-Genoa Racing-Best Access Systems Dallara/Aurora/Firestone.
Brack qualified sixth at 211.715. He was allowed only one lap to qualify after his Power Team Dallara/Aurora/Goodyear initially failed pre-qualifying technical inspection.
"Our rear wing was a little high," said Brack. "It (failing tech) actually helped us. That reduces the drag. It's not often you get sent back and it helps you."
Brack can clinch the championship and the Pep Boys Million bonus by finishing ninth or better without collecting the two bonus points for most laps led, or 13th or better if he leads the most laps.
Hamilton struggled, managing only 13th at 209.383 in the Reebok-Nienhouse Motorsports Dallara/Aurora/Goodyear. "The car was terrible, actually," said Hamilton. "We were going for a 213 (mph) run, but I knew by the second lap that that wasn't going to happen. We wanted to get the pole, now we're just looking for a good race tomorrow."
Hamilton must finish fourth or better to have any chance at winning the Pep Boys Million.
Leading Rookie of the Year candidate Robby Unser did not attempt to qualify in The Children's Beverage Group-Team Cheever G Force/Aurora/Goodyear due to an unscheduled engine change, and will start 27th in the 28-car field. Unser must finish 24th or better Sunday to clinch top rookie honors.

Red-Hot Franchitti Takes Honda Indy Pole In Front Of Record Crowd
Surfers Paradise, AUS (October 16, 1998) - Dario Franchitti of Team KOOL Green earned his series-high fifth pole position of the FedEx Championship Series season in record fashion Saturday as he led all qualifiers for Sunday's Honda Indy before a record-setting crowd of 67,659 on Australia's Gold Coast.
Franchitti (KOOL Reynard Honda) posted a lap of 109.028 miles per hour (1 minute, 32.298 seconds) to eclipse Alex Zanardi's day-old track record of 109.002 mph (1:32.310) and earn the sixth pole of his career for Sunday's 18th round of the FedEx Championship Series (8:30 p.m. ET, tape delay, ESPN). Saturday's attendance marked the second consecutive day the eight-year event established daily record figures and Honda Indy officials are expecting to eclipse last year's all-time Sunday record attendance mark of 91,664.
Franchitti, winner of three of the past four FedEx Championship Series events, registered his fourth consecutive front-row start and eighth in the last 10 events, dating to an outside pole at Portland. He also earned an important PPG Cup point, drawing him to four (148-144) behind second-place Jimmy Vasser (Target Reynard Honda) in the battle to finish second to Zanardi in the PPG Cup points race.
Franchitti collected the $10,000 Marlboro Pole Award with the opportunity to add an additional $30,000 in rollover bonus money with a victory Sunday.
Zanardi (Target Reynard Honda), winner of back-to-back FedEx Championship Series titles in 1997 and this year, was thwarted by a gearbox problem in the bid to earn his first pole since last year at Vancouver. Zanardi, the provisional pole sitter, managed only three laps in Saturday's final qualifying session before incurring the gear box problem that forced his retirement. He then watched helplessly from pit road as his pursuers took aim at his record-setting lap.
Still, Zanardi matched a season best with his fourth outside pole of the campaign and his ninth top-five start in 18 events this year. He chases a series-high sixth victory of the season Sunday.
Christian Fittipaldi (Kmart Swift Ford) matched a career best by starting third at 108.777 mph (1:32.501). He started third at Milwaukee in 1996 and matched the start last year at Portland in his return from a broken right leg sustained in a second-lap crash during last year's event here.
Paul Tracy (KOOL Reynard Honda) gave Team KOOL Green two of the top four starting positions by qualifying fourth at 108.681 mph (1:32.583). The effort matches a season best established two weeks ago at Houston.
Bryan Herta (Shell Reynard Ford) qualified fifth at 108.675 mph (1:32.588). He has started sixth or better in 11 of the past 13 FedEx Championship Series road or street races, including five pole positions.
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:
DARIO FRANCHITTI, KOOL Reynard Honda: "During qualifying, I didn't get to do a [hot] lap on the first set of tires. I flat spotted them, then I came back in under a red flag and put on a new set of tires. I want back out and told myself, 'This is it.' I made one mistake, but I was able to hang on. It's a great result for myself, for Honda, for Firestone and for Team KOOL Green. We've been running at the front a lot lately, but it really took until Elkhart [Lake] to get it all sorted out. The car has been quick all year, It's just that I'm getting more comfortable in the car and the team is starting to put things together on Sunday afternoons when it counts."
ALEX ZANARDI, Target Reynard Honda: "We had a little problem with the gearbox. I can't do anything but shake Dario's hand, but I'm disappointed that we didn't have an opportunity to fight for it. Certainly, for myself I wanted to get the pole. I can't allow Dario to win the race. I've got to go out and try to win. I've got to help Jimmy somehow [Teammate Jimmy Vasser stands second in the FedEx Championship Series points race, in which Franchitti stands third]. I definitely think we have the car to win."
CHRISTIAN FITTIPALDI, Kmart Swift Ford: "Yesterday we didn't have a really super day. I managed to flat spot all four of my sets of tires thanks to a braking problem. But we were able to get the problem corrected today. Alex had a small problem today when he could have had a great run for the pole, and when I saw him come in, I thought, 'This could be my day.' I got out on my second set of tires but I ran into some traffic and that's where I lost it. [Joking] When I went past the place where I had the accident [last year], I was lifting, because I was scared. If it hadn't been for that, I'd have been on the pole."
WHAT'S NOTEWORTHY:
Dario Franchitti's (KOOL Reynard Honda) season-high five pole positions have been earned at Rio de Janeiro, Toronto, Mid-Ohio, Vancouver and Australia. He has started on the front row in eight of the past nine FedEx Championship Series events contested on road or street courses, including outside poles at Portland, Cleveland, Laguna Seca and Houston, respectively.
Franchitti's sixth career pole position, including last year at Toronto, tied him with Jacques Villeneuve, Gordon Johncock, Roberto Guerrero and Jimmy Vasser (Target Reynard Honda) for 14th on the all-time CART list.
Zanardi's outside pole position gives him top-three starts in all three of his career appearances at Australia, including third in 1996 and the pole last year. He is making his fourth front-row start of the season, matching his season-high performances at Rio de Janeiro, Detroit and Toronto, respectively.
Legalized Australian bookmakers have made Alex Zanardi (Target Reynard Honda) the favorite for Sunday's Honda Indy at odds of 2.5 to 1. Zanardi is followed by Dario Franchitti (3.25-1), Michael Andretti (11-1), Paul Tracy (11-1) and Jimmy Vasser (11-1). Vincenzo Sospiri is the long shot at 1,001-1.
Rookie Helio Castro-Neves (Alumax Aluminum Reynard Mercedes) did not participate in Saturday's final Champ Car qualifying session after damaging his primary and secondary cars during separate incidents in morning practice. Castro-Neves stood on Friday's lap of 107.029 mph (1:34.012) and will start 18th.
Among the attendees at Saturday's final qualifying for the Honda Indy was former Wimbledon tennis champion and native Australian, Evonne Goolagong Cawley.

Is standing up against discrimination illegal?

Hi all,
I'd like to make this post short and to the point. Criticise me as you will.
I worked for an Australian bookmaker, probably one of the largest. They instilled a new policy of recruitment after I got hired, in which they only hired Cantonese Chinese and not Mandarin Chinese.
This is the complicated part of the story. Cantonese Chinese have generally discriminated against non-Cantonese for being unruly and uneducated. There's even stuff on the English Wikipedia about this topic. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regional_discrimination_in_China#Regional_discrimination_in_Guangdong.2C_Hong_Kong_and_Macau It is common, however, the issue is, the manager of my department was from a different background and admitted she had little knowledge of the subject at hand. She agreed to read up on the topic and stop discriminatory recruiting if I wrote a report. I ended up writing a three page report.
I was then promptly fired two days later by phone and not given a reason.

Downsides to arbitrage / Dutch betting?

Hi. I noticed a really nice Dutch betting option across two Australian bookmakers - ROI of 15%.
Are there any downsides to arbitrage betting when finding a good Dutch option like this that I am not thinking off.
Ideally I would like to find occasional high ROI bets, bet reasonably large sums very occasionally, and win a few hundred dollars every once in a while.
Please note in Australia there is no tax paid on recreational gambling income.
Thanks.
